The 300-voice Messiah Choir performs Handel'sMessiahannually at the Community of Christ Auditorium. The concert features guest soloists and the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra. For information, call the Central Ticket office at (816) 235-6222.

The Independence Art Association holds monthly meetings with a featured speaker or program. The organization holds an annual art show and administers annual scholarships for Independence students. (816) 461-9019

The Roger T. Sermon Community Center, Truman and Noland Road, hosts many of the above-mentioned activities.
