As the hometown of President Harry S. Truman, Independence is rich in Truman history. Visit the Truman Presidential Library and Museum, 500 West U.S. Highway 24; the Truman Home, a white Victorian-style house located at 219 North Delaware Street that served as the "Summer White House" for President Truman and Bess; or one of the many other Truman sites located throughout the city.
