Ambassadors

To participate as an Ambassador, a person must have been an active Independence Chamber of Commerce member for one year. Annual dues are $25.00, which is used for Ambassador events. There are many opportunities for Ambassadors to participate in Chamber events.

Chamber Committees

The Chamber brings together businesses of all types and sizes, to reach a common goal: Improve the economy and quality of life in Independence. Through the following four Divisions the Chamber is able to achieve its goals. Four Divisions govern specific Chamber events and initiatives while being run by Division chairs.

Youth L.E.A.D

Youth L.E.A.D. Independence is a six-month leadership program sponsored by the Independence Chamber of Commerce for high school juniors in the Independence area public and private schools. The program is designed to expose young people, our future leaders, to the various elements that form a strong dynamic city.

Adult L.E.A.D.

Each year a diverse group of people from the Independence community take part in this program, and each year they create a cohesive network, in which every person is encouaged to learn, share and grow.

CHOICES ®

CHOICES ® is a powerful interactive seminar designed to help middle school students realize they can take charge of their lives. Utilizing Independence Chamber volunteers, presenters use an eye opening role play to get classes involved to make real world connections between school and work.

F.U.E.L. (YPN Group)

The Future Unrivaled Emerging Leaders (F.U.E.L.), an initiative of the Independence Chamber of Commerce, provides young professionals the opportunity to increase community involvement, social interaction, and business development skills.

University of Central Missouri

The Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies and development (IESD) has had a long-standing relationship with the Independence Chamber of Commerce. When space became available, the Chamber offered this space for an even greater presence of UCM within the Independence community to provide greater benefits to the Chamber membership and to the Independence community at large. UCM plans to expand its relationships with both the Chamber membership and the Metropolitan Community college programs at Blue River.

Buy iN is an educational and marketing campaign designed to encourage residents and visitors to patronize local businesses in an effort to improve the quality of life in Independence, support neighborhood schools, and enhance the economic vitality of the community.  By buying iN, you promote business in Independence, and help preserve the character and spirit of your neighborhood.
